Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
This is the privacy policy for Random Agency LLC, doing business as That Random Agency ("we," "us," "Random"). It covers what we collect when you visit our website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
We tried to write this like people talk. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@thatrandomagency.com and we'll explain.
What we collect
When you fill out our contact form. Your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message field. We need this to reply to you.
When you sign up for our newsletter. Your email address, and your name if you give it. We use this to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
When you browse the site. We use analytics to understand which pages people read and where visitors come from. This includes things like your approximate location (city level), the pages you visit, how long you stay, and what device and browser you use.
When we identify you as a business visitor. We use a visitor-identification tool (RB2B, powered by Retention.com) on our site. When you visit or log in to our website, cookies and similar technologies may be used by our online data partners or vendors to associate these activities with other personal information they or others have about you, including by association with your email. We (or service providers on our behalf) may then send communications and marketing to these email addresses. You may opt out of receiving this advertising by visiting https://app.retention.com/optout.
Cookies for advertising. If you consent, we use pixels from Meta, LinkedIn, and Google Ads to show you our ads on other platforms after you've visited our site. You can decline these in our cookie banner, and you can change your mind any time by clicking "Cookie Preferences" in our footer.
What we do with it
We use what we collect to reply to your inquiry, send you content you signed up for, understand how the site is performing, identify businesses that visit our site so we can follow up, and (with your consent) show you our ads elsewhere.
Who we share it with
We use service providers to run the site and our marketing. They only see what they need to do their job:
Our website host (stores the site and form submissions)
Our email tool (sends the newsletter)
Google Analytics (tells us how the site is performing)
RB2B and Retention.com (identify business visitors and match visits to contact information through their data network)
Meta, LinkedIn, and Google Ads (only if you consent to advertising cookies)
Our visitor-identification partners draw on their own data networks to match your visit to contact information. Depending on where you live, that matching may count as "selling" or "sharing" your personal information under privacy law. See "Your rights" below for how to opt out, or use https://app.retention.com/optout.
The other companies listed are bound by their own privacy terms and cannot use your data for their own purposes beyond what's needed to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
Contact form submissions: up to 2 years after our last conversation, unless you ask us to delete sooner. Newsletter signups: until you unsubscribe. Analytics data: 26 months (Google Analytics default). Advertising cookies: typically 30 to 90 days, set by the platform. Visitor-identification data: retained while you remain a prospect, unless you opt out or ask us to delete it.
Your rights
If you're in California (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request a copy, ask us to delete it, and opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (including cross-context behavioral advertising and the visitor-identification matching described above). To opt out of the visitor-identification advertising, visit https://app.retention.com/optout. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@thatrandomagency.com.
If you're in the EU or UK (GDPR): You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we process it, port it elsewhere, and object to processing. Where we rely on consent (like advertising cookies and the newsletter), you can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of what came before. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Email hello@thatrandomagency.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
If you're elsewhere in the US: You can email us with the same kinds of requests and we'll honor them.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file a website saves on your browser. We use:
Necessary cookies to make the site work. These are always on.
Analytics cookies to understand site performance. You can decline these.
Advertising cookies to show you our ads on other platforms. Off by default. Only on if you consent.
Visitor-identification technologies that let our partners match your visit to contact information. You can opt out at https://app.retention.com/optout.
You can manage your preferences any time through the "Cookie Preferences" link in our footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser settings.
Children
Our site is for adults running businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll let newsletter subscribers know by email.
